What is on YOUR Business Card ?
Today with cheap card printing you should be able to vary your cards to suit your clientèle or your business. It amazes me that most people
forget the back of the card - that large white space with nothing on it.
How do we make clients and prospective clients want to keep our card?
Start thinking about cards that you have kept. Were they amusing, different or did they actually have a use apart from being an advertising
vehicle.
I keep cards with calendars on. So much easier to find the card in my pocket than my electronic diary. Appointment cards, again with a
calendar on them. As I leave I can get the next appointment ticked off.
The best was my hairdresser for many years. She had slack days. Now a slack day is money wasted. She gave me her ‘new’ card as a valued
client. On the back it gave days and times where I could get 25% off salon charges. Now as I was paying a pretty hefty whack each time I went, I
changed my habits and went on the cheap days.
Do you have a mission statement?
Well put it on the back of the card, not jumbled with the address etc on the front. Do you work in an area which is complex to find. Put a map
on the back of your card. Make things easy for your client.
If you work in digital Audio Typing, put hints and tips on the back of the card, this will be invaluable to the client. If you work virtually,
send your cards with other information or invoices.
Be Inventive
With the amount of business cards out there, yours needs to be different. When the time comes to clean out the briefcase or purse, what cards
are you going to keep. I put the cards given to me into my CRM system and then either bin them or keep them.
Which cards do you think I will refer to, those in a computer system or those close to hand?
Get to the point where your clients turn your card over to see what you have put on the back this time.
